A night to remember at Cuba Libre Restaurant and Rum Bar as a fundraiser was held for 25-year TV cameraman Jerry Thompson. Diagnosed with brain cancer, he eventually lost his job at CNN after all his medical leave expired. The one night event raised over $75,000 for a trust going to Jerry and his three children.

As a CNN cameraman who was diagnosed with the same type of brain cancer that Ted Kennedy battled, most all of CNN's broadcast team participated in the fundraiser with correspondents and news industry talent from all over to include Bret Baier, Dana Bash, Wolf Blitzer, Jill Dougherty, Ed Henry, John King, Joe Lockhart, Jamie Mcintyre, Jeanne Meserve, Dana Milbank, Doug Mills, Miles O’Brien, Chris Plante, Wendy Rieger, Claire Shipman, Ken Strickland, Lisa Sylvester and Mike Viqueira...
