About the Book
The photographs here were taken over a 40-year period and are laid out in a series representing many dives at various sites from the 1960s through 2010. Yet it has really only been one long dive ranging within one great ocean, unbroken except to surface for air, change film, adjust equipment, off gas and get ready to go again.
The images speak for themselves, as I have provided only descriptive titles, dates and approximate locations. The earliest were taken with a Nikonos camera and Agfachrome film, the later with Nikon SLR cameras in Ikelite, Aquatica, SeaCam or Sea & Sea SLR housings. In the earlier part of the series, almost every variety of slide film is represented; more recent images are digital.
Each image was possible with the cooperation of its subject in its unique locale and with the help of mentors, guides, and friends who have contributed in ways they may not know.
