About the Book
Antarctica - the last frontier. A continent of immense beauty and unpredictable moods. In early 2009 we journeyed by ship heading through the South Shetland Islands following the Antarctic Peninsula until we were forced to run from a Force 8 storm at 65 degrees, 10 minutes south.
This is our pictorial history as we viewed immense glaciers, stood on sands heated by volcanic forces alive beneath our feet, experienced sunrises and sunsets of unimaginable colours and beauty and were entertained by penguins, seals, whales, orcas and seabirds ranging from giant petrels to skuas.
We journeyed amongst icebergs and broke though ice bound channels, wandered through ruins of abandoned settlements and shipwrecks and visited the mini settlements of today's scientists.
Antarctica - it really is the last frontier.
