All the photographs in this book were taken within an area no more than 3 miles square. The objective was to show that even in an 'ordinary' village there is beauty all around. You don't have to travel far to find subjects. The better you know the area the better the chance that you can expose its character and beauty. You just have to open your eyes.



Many of the subjects of these photographs appear more than once. I make no excuse for that. I have my favourite locations. Each time I photograph them it is a different time of day and different time of the year. The results expose the variety inherent in each subject, the variety existing in the differences in mood, colour, tone and shade.
