An accomplished artist and photographer, Christine Matthäi was born in the former East Germany. She studied Fashion Design and Technology in Berlin. After moving to New York in 1981, she worked as a photographer’s assistant, became a foreign correspondent for German magazines, and a freelance producer for German Television. She studied photography at the Parson School of Design and filmmaking at the New York Film Academy. Matthäi created and produced a coffee table book—"Kunst Is Essen Ist Kunst" (Knesebeck Verlag, Germany, 2004)—a collection of 25 leading artist profiles featuring tabletop installations centered on food and art. Matthäi’s series of DVD’s with photographic images and music was produced in Canada and released in 2006. Her fine art photography is collected internationally and represented by numerous galleries in Europe and the United States. christinematthai.com
