The Ark Ship sailed in the dark seas of space. For thousands of years it travelled searching for a new home for it’s sleeping passengers – humans and creatures from Earth, looking for new life. The Ark Ship alone cares for her cargo. Her avatars tend the cryogenic chambers full of sleeping life forms, maintaining the systems that keep each one healthy. Any problems are immediately felt by the ship and corrected.



From time to time, the ship sends out a robotic dove – a small sentient machine capable of seeking out likely planets for the slumbering cargo. The robotic dove can travel much faster than the ship and reports back what it finds. So far, the ship has sent out 199 robotic doves. So far, none had returned or had sent messages. But space was vast and the Ark Ship was patient so at 0800 hours on the 8th September 3009, by old Earth calendar reckoning, she sent out the last robot dove. This is his story.
