About the Book
A story of eight girls growing up on a farm in rural South Dakota with their parents beginning in the early 1920's and ending in the 1960's.
The book includes the history of their grandparents immigration to the United States from Norway and the race for surplus land when it was opened for homesteading in 1892.
The Christmas memories were written by the sisters a number of years ago with the intent to be shared amongst themselves. The idea grew into including our growing up memories as a history for our children and grandchildren. Then it grew and grew adding pictures and became the book it is today. None of us are professional writers and all memories are just that-- what we remember from years ago. We hope you find this book interesting and sometimes laughable but mostly a warm family reflection.
