This book documents a six week overland journey from Istanbul along the Mediterranean coast, inland to Cappadocia and the Taurus Mountains of Turkey. Through Syria visiting among other places Aleppo, Palmyra, Crusader Castles, and Damascus. Into Jordan where the highlights included Amman, Jerash, the Dead Sea, Petra, Wadi Rum, and Aqaba. Ending in Egypt, travelling through the Sinai to Giza, up the Nile valley to Aswan and Abu Simbel and back down to Luxor, the Valley of the Kings, Thebes, Saqqara and Cairo.
