The Roseate Spoonbill is now off the endangered list but is still on the "Species of Great Concern" list due to the loss of their habitat and pesticides.

Following my retirement and relocation to the Gulf Coast, I immediately began photographing one of my favorite subjects, the birds of the Gulf Coast. I have always enjoyed nature photography, particularly of butterflies, but living in an area with such a plethora of beautiful birds, one cannot resist the urge to capture their beauty. In 2010 I formed Hume Nature Photography with my wife who joined me in capturing the beauty of nature. We are dedicated to capturing the beauty and artistry of nature and hope that our work achieves that goal.
