    About the Book

    Edit

In February 2010, four members of the Cherokee Photography Club took on the difficult task of photographing and documenting the historic Reeves House on Elm Street in Olde Towne Woodstock prior to its proposed restoration.

The home had been abandoned for quite some time and was in foreclosure, so the condition of the house and grounds was, to say the least, dilapidated. This condition was a true challenge for the visual and creative abilities of these photographers.

The images were captured over a period of 60 days, allowing the photographers to pick the time of day, the lighting conditions, and the weather which they preferred. This flexibility resulted in a variety of images that illustrate many different moods, facets, details and representations of this historic home and grounds.

On the pages that follow you will enjoy the highly successful and beautiful results of their creative visions and imaging talents.

    Participating Photographers:

    Kim Bates --- Karen Beedle

    René Gallet --- Darcy Pino

The book was designed and edited by René Gallet.

100% of the profits from the sale of this publication are being donated to the Elm Street Cultural Arts Village project.

    ELM STREET CULTURAL ARTS VILLAGE
    Woodstock, Georgia

A diverse group of Cherokee County artists, interested citizens, and business leaders have developed a comprehensive plan that includes the restoration of a century old, historic farmhouse into a visual arts village featuring galleries, artist studios, and classroom space. The complex will also include the Elm Street Theater for conducting live performances and acting classes, as well as hosting special events and community festivals. The site, on 4+ acres is just one block off Main Street in Woodstock, GA., will accommodate a cultural arts complex, a significant new city park, gardens, and green-space -- all in the heart of downtown. The location of the site is adjacent to the city’s new Greenprints Trail, providing access to the village for both pedestrians and bikers using the new recreational trail system.
