A photography book can be compared to a musical symphony or concerto, with the movements, rhythms, themes and variations represented by visual images and their layout within the book.



"Lofoten Odyssey" is a photo essay based on photographs taken during a nature photography workshop held in Lofoten in Northern Norway.



The words "odyssey", "flight of fantasy" and "evolution" used in the book are allegorical inasmuch as they can also describe the development of the photographer during the course of a lifetime as well as from the inspiration and influence of the workshop.



The theme of evolution is used to present the pictures from the workshop in a thematic form, paralleling the earth's evolution : before time; life evolves; life forms in the sand; arrival of the birds; arrival of homo photographicus; the age of the image.
