Steam on Shed is a collection of pictures taken of Steam Locomotives being serviced and prepared for duty on Britain’s main lines and preserved railways.

The pictures have been taken over the last thirty years and feature some engines that have since being withdrawn from traffic for major overhauls.

Some of the steam engine sheds featured have also undergone major changes over the time period making this book historic in railway infrastructure terms as well as locomotive terms.

All the pictures were shot on Ilford Black and White film with real film cameras ranging from Nikon F601 and 801 SLRs, through to Agfa Isolette, Zeiss Ikon, and Voigtlander classic cameras. The camera and film used is noted under each photograph in the book.
