Asai's fourth book of poetry was written while living in Japan. Travel with her through five seasons as she reflects upon the natural beauty and unique culture of this ancient and modern world. Consisting mainly of poetry in the haiku form, this volume also includes some longer-form verse.

Pamela Asai is a visual artist and poet. She exhibits regularly and has published four books of poetry with Blurb - Ash (2018), Uneven Verse (2022/2025), Blizzard Warning (2025) and Waiting for Squirrels (2026). Asai is inspired by the natural world and the seasons, by Buddhism, and by the poetry and beauty found in ordinary daily life. Her work is quiet, meditative and timeless, while being grounded in the details of the here and now. Her poetry encourages the reader to slow down, breath, listen, notice and be grateful for small things.
