    About the Book

    Edit

For generations, the Kevorkoff School stood at the heart of the Ethiopian Armenian community. More than a place of learning, it was where children preserved their language, culture, values, and identity. Within its classrooms, lifelong friendships were formed, traditions were passed on, and a refugee community built hope for the future.

This book tells the remarkable story of Matig Kevorkoff, whose extraordinary generosity transformed a vision into "one of the most important institutions established by the Armenian community in Ethiopia." Through rare photographs, historical accounts, and personal memories, it celebrates the school, the community it nurtured, and the generations whose lives were shaped within its walls.

The true legacy of Matig Kevorkoff lives not in bricks and mortar, but in the thousands of Ethiopian Armenians whose identity, education, and heritage were preserved through his vision.
