About the Book
Glass towers rise beside palace walls. Neon reflections spill across streets shaped by centuries of history. Tradition and modernity exist as interconnected layers of the same urban landscape.
SEOUL Urban Currents is a collection of over 130 photographs that explores the places where these worlds meet. From historic courtyards and temple roofs to crowded streets and neon alleys, these images reveal a city that carries its past forward while continually reinventing itself.
A portrait of a city where everything moves at once and nothing is left behind.

About the Creator
Joe is a documentary photographer based in Northern Colorado. His work explores the relationship between movement and stillness; searching for the moments where light, place, and people come together to tell stories that often go unnoticed. A former photojournalist, his photographs have appeared in newspapers and magazines across both large and small markets, and is the author of two photography books: SEOUL Urban Currents and Pulse and Pause: The Silence in Between. His work focuses on presence rather than perfection, revealing not just what a place looks like, but what it feels like to be there. He looks for the quiet rhythms, fleeting moments, and small details within ordinary life that give a place its character.
