    About the Book

    Edit

A personal recollection of Dordrecht, memory, and unexpected connections across time.

This small book follows a series of encounters between places from the author’s childhood and traces left behind by Vincent van Gogh during his stay in Dordrecht in 1877. Through windows, walks, drawings, bells, demolished houses, and a small door knob kept for decades, different layers of the city gradually begin to overlap.

Part memoir, part visual essay, the knob reflects on how places continue to carry memory long after people have disappeared.
