This volume is a visual record of the plight and suffering of the Amhara and Afar people as witnessed by photojournalist Jemal Countess. Between December 2020 and April 2022, Jemal Countess made 6 trips to cover the war between the Ethiopian Government and the Tigray Peoples Liberation Front. Over time what he found was a war within a war, one whose sole purpose was the minimization and erasure of the Amhara people based solely on their ethnicity and religion.
