About the Book
God, in arguing with His "wife" Jerusalem in Ezekiel 16:48-50, compares her to Sodom, explaining what Sodom's sin was and why it resulted in her destruction:
“Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.”
This book is the author's proposal that the sixth and final Gentile world power will go into perdition, having been indicted and adjudicated for the exact same pride that brought Sodom low. Ezekiel 7:10-11 describes the day of judgment beginning with the budding of pride in the morning, becoming violence during day, and growing into a rod of wickedness.
When the nation placed the abomination – a prideful man above the law of the land – in position of leadership, violence and wickedness follow, resulting in desolations, for that leader and the land.
