Born and raised in St Paul, Minnesota. Maureen raised two daughters and currently has ten grandchildren. She became interested in writing children's books when her daughters were young and had many stories to tell. She now resides in Inver Grove Heights, MN with her husband Tom Stack, who she chose to be her illustrator.
