About the Book
Roland Petersen: Undiminished, presented by the Elverhøj Museum of History and Art, celebrates the art of a renowned Danish-American artist. There is much to celebrate as Petersen, born on March 31, 1926, will turn 100 years old the week before the exhibition opens. His sustained mastery and inventiveness—which have remained undiminished over an eight-decade long career—are represented by a group of paintings and works on paper that the artist and his wife Caryl recently donated to the Elverhøj. Many of these works, including a number of studies retrieved from Petersen’s archives, have never been seen before. Consisting of some twenty works, Roland Petersen: Undiminished offers fresh revelations into the artist’s working methods and masterful use of vivid interwoven color. It features and essay by curator John Seed
