About the Book
Rather than focusing on action or drama, this book centers on moments of encounter—when an animal pauses, observes, asserts itself, or meets the camera on its own terms. Some portraits convey calm and stillness; others reveal tension, warning, or strength. Each image invites the viewer to recognize an individual life rather than a symbol or category.
Photographed over decades of field work, these images reflect a documentary approach grounded in patience, respect, and careful observation. The animals are shown as they are, without artificial staging or heavy digital manipulation, allowing expression and physical presence to speak for themselves.
Portraits of Endangered Wildlife serves both as a visual record and a meditation on vulnerability, resilience, and survival. It is intended for wildlife enthusiasts, conservation-minded readers, and anyone drawn to the quiet power of truly seeing another living being.
