About the Book
A visual exploration of Earth's Shell Forms which uses both x-ray and traditional reflective-light color photos, often compared or blended together. It focuses most on the classic Mollusc shapes, but also delves into the recent Anthropocene shellforms taking over the oceans. Discussion of shell parts, colors, textures, families, and taxonomy. Does not shy away from ecological, mythical, and philosophical implications, which are given from an outsider universalistic perspective.

Jim Wehtje
Lancaster, Massachusetts, USA
I have been making x-ray photos since 1996, including doing assignments for companies large and small. I now focus on plants and seashells and will be producing more books. I am open to working with traditional publishers. I live in Lancaster, MA, where I help my aged folks tend the gardens which supply specimens to x-ray and endless wonder.
