About the Book
Rather than documenting places, the work traces encounters — moments where water appears flowing, frozen, suspended, dispersed, or absorbed. These images register both continuity and change, acknowledging that some of the waters depicted no longer exist in the same form, while others persist beyond human attention.
Text throughout the book functions as reflection rather than explanation, allowing memory to coexist with observation. Together, image and language consider photography as an act of presence shaped by recollection, restraint, and care.
Memories of Water invites sustained looking and quiet awareness, offering a meditation on one of the planet’s most essential and fragile elements — not through argument, but through attention.

About the Creator
Late 1955 my eyes peeped at La Paz in the high Andes. Since then, they have learned by capturing sparkles of light. Influenced by Ansel Adams perfection and Vincent Van Gogh impressionism colors has forged my technique to pursue chasing Water for 45 years capturing its beauty. While visiting 40+ countries and living in 10 of them, now settled at Calera de Tango in Chile. Work using medium format film and digital cameras, capturing the beauty of water in all its forms; denouncing many times the little interest that our civilized world invests in its conservation and preservation. Printing Color and B&W on large size photographic and fine art paper. Water an important resource, source of life, and protagonist of my exhibitions around the world, that converge between the look of the paused movement, preserving it for future generations, as is the case of certain images that I took at a glacier that disappeared 20 years ago. Some images are non-repeatable due to nature effects.
