    About the Book

    Edit

Fort Worden in Port Townsend, Washington, has had many incarnations over the years- an active military installation during two world wars, a treatment center for troubled youth, and now a vibrant Washington State Parks facility housing creative endeavors of all kinds as well exquisite guest vacation rentals.

This work is a compilation of images taken in October 2009 under the auspices of a Centrum Foundation Residency. The intent was to combine, to some extent, archival images of Fort Worden with images that spoke to this photographer of the essence of the fort and its activities today - the serene beauty, architectural grandeur and just plain whimsy that is today's Fort Worden.
