After studying human behaviour through my photography, watching as people hide behind masks of false emotions, I decided to create a series of portraits that would strip away these posed facades. To do this I wanted to capture something basic and instinctual, something that can't be faked like most other emotions. I focused on the fight or flight reaction, shocking and surprising people using a gas air horn. The results were humorous and were exactly what I was looking for. Some of these reactions are bound to make you laugh!
