David Jenney’s publishing career spans 25 years, beginning in 1982 as a design intern for Northland Publishing in Flagstaff Arizona. He held positions of increasing responsibility—and was promoted to publisher in 1993. The company was sold in August of 2007. Northland (est. 1959) was recognized as an award-winning book publisher, known for its finely crafted books on the Southwest region. In addition to the adult titles, the company published a very successful line of children’s books under the Rising Moon and Luna Rising (bilingual books) imprints. During his 13-year tenure as publisher, annual sales more than tripled, and Northland was named to the Publishers Weekly list of fastest growing small publishers. He was very active in the creative side of the business. His design credits include two Benjamin Franklin Awards, two Wrangler Awards from National Cowboy Hall of Fame, and awards of excellence from the American Institute of Graphic Arts, PubWest, and Bookbuilders West.
