Both inspirational and historical, "Tennessee Tradition" is the story of just one of Tennessee’s past outstanding female basketball players. Author Mary Ann Archie Childers shares her personal experiences from the beginning of her organized basketball career under the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association's rules and regulations in 1962 in a small town in West Tennessee, and ending nine years later in 1971 at the University of Tennessee Martin. Those nine years of organized basketball are packed with some of the most significant changes in the sport's history. Included in the story is her amazing college basketball experience at the beginnings of the organization of the sport on the college level. It led to the national recognition of college women's basketball and the remarkable opportunities for young women today.
