About the Book
A photographic exploration of the distortions of our reality by the prevalence of manipulative technologies. The images are collaged and/or created for the most part in-camera and whenever possible in the same proximate location and time. This immediacy gives a deeper meaning to the work as it attempts to tell multiple stories occurring in a near simultaneous realm. It seeks to replicate the continuous daily onslaught on our senses that makes us feel continually anxious, and the recognition of how pervasive and distorted the flow of information can be on our lives.
The distortions can reflect our difficulty in understanding who we really are when more and more we seem to be shaped by our online persona, made up of collections of superficially assembled snippets of data that only partially, incompletely resemble a real person.

About the Creator
J. Edgar Fennie
San Francisco, CA
Visual art has always been a cornerstone of my experience. My formal training and career for many years was centered on shaping physical space through architectural and interior design. Space only exists for us in the realm of the interplay of light, and so it is in photography as well. Form is light. San Francisco has been my homebase for over 40 years and has allowed me to discover other locales worldwide, enriching my experience and inspiring me to create meaningful imagery and memory making. My images have been exhibited in several locations including Silicon Valley Bank HQ in Santa Clara, and a small salon in Noe Valley, as well as several websites.
