Welcome Home Island Boy is a tale of two adventurous young sailors in the Florida Keys and is based on a true story--thirteen year old Cal, know as Island Boy to his friends and his best friend, fifteen year old Doug, a true Pirate at heart. Their adventures aboard 'Dreamer', Doug's 20 foot sailboat, take them from the islands and reefs of the Florida Keys to the Everglades, where they rescue Cals's father. Along the way, they learn important lessons about the importance of family and friends. Their friendship is strengthened by the determination, self-reliance and mutual trust which develops as they battle the elements to survive and save the day.
