About the Book
Just before Covid stopped everything in its tracks, my sister gave me a large box of photographs. It had been stashed away in her attic, given to her by our mother when she moved into a nursing home. My sister didn't know what to do with it, so it landed with me. Those photos, some dating as far back as the late 1800’s, and legal papers sent me on a journey that resulted in this book. When you grew up in a compound consisting of three multi-family houses, sixteen aunts and uncles and dozens of cousins, the stories are many. With the assistance of my 97-year-old aunt, the last of my mother's eight siblings, I have been able to put together some funny and touching stories about her parents and other family members.
