From 2020 to 2023, portrait photographer Ashleigh Taylor photographed 50 women over 50 years old from Santa Barbara CA and surrounding communities. The project's aim was to empower women of all ages and show how vibrant, diverse and dynamic it is to be a woman over 50. Women from 50-83 years old participates. Some mothers, some grandmothers, some childfree, some married, some divorced, some widowed, some who chose careers and still work, some who are retired or chose to stay home and raise a family, some who survived cancer, domestic violence, or other life altering milestones. While every woman's story was different one thing was clear -- women overcome and handle so much in their lives and deserve to be celebrated.
