    About the Book

    Edit

Icscis/walkthearts, through its director Professor Yves M. Larocque, has taught painting and art history at the Ottawa School of Art since 1982. In 2008, Professor Laroque created the Painting Resource course when he realized that approaching creativity through painting had become an essential element of the zeitgeist of Canada, the United States, Australia and New Zealand. The course description reads as follows: “This course is for those who are at a turning point of their painting culture. The pertinent questions are: what should I paint? Why I am repeating? Why am I imitating? Where is my creativity? Essentially, how can I become authentic as an emerging artist? It is within this framework that we will try, all together, to answer these crucial questions.” A group of students have taken this course since its inception – here are their stories.
