About the Book
This book presents mainly images of boys and men taken in Japan, India, Tibet and China. Emphasis is placed on traditional, even archaic environments such as open-air markets, festivals, a school for traditional performing arts in South India and monasteries in Tibet. Some places have been visited repeatedly to see old friends and look for changes. Most of the photos are taken in black-and-white in an attempt to tie portraiture into a graphisc composition.
