As a child it was a natural thing for Sally to be read to, or read to herself, the many poems and stories written by her maternal grandmother Bickham. It was only in her adulthood that the true value of these writings became evident. Her grandmother’s talent was carried on by her mother, Mabel Marquis, who wrote with that same inspiration. Although Sally has occasionally written poems and music during her life, Sally, in her advanced age, became inspired to join them. It seemed logical to combine some of their efforts into an anthology of poetry. So it is with great pleasure that we present her poetry anthology of three generations, “NOT FAR FROM THE TREE”.
