About the Book
Although we have unprecedented freedom of movement, modern life is extremely regimented, subject to rules and regulations, our every move monitored and logged. With our diaries mapped out months in advance and deadlines to meet, our daily routines allow us little spontaneity. We live in our heads, hardly noticing our surroundings as we rush from A to B.
In a spirit of spontaneity, exploration and adventure, I decided to undertake a series of journeys completely subject to the vagaries of chance, the sole purpose being to lay myself open to whatever may happen, to go wherever I am led, and ultimately to see if behind the random and haphazard, connections can be made. I will be taking to the streets of London accompanied only by my camera, a copy of the A-Z and a set of dice. Like all games of chance, however, these journeys will be subject to a set of rules......
