About the Book
I am interested in the non-evaluable. Non-evaluable things are like a shifting perspective that cannot resolve itself. It challenges the imagination.
From 1979 to 2020 I had access to a Xerox machine. First black and white only, later bigger colour machines offering features like enlargement and reduction, scanning, as well as colour output of files. Over this 40 year period I would often be the first one in the studio.
I would take a bit of this time to experiment with the Xerox machines. It was an opportunity to quell my thoughts by just looking at things. Trained as a photographer, I am always wondering what things look like as a picture, so frequently my looking lead to xeroxing. As the years progressed and the computer screen interceded in the process, I took to making screen shots of my digital photographs, then experimenting with them, then outputting them on the colour Xerox machine.
My mind is organized in pictures, words and rhymes. Frequently my mind substitutes similars for originals and rhymes for nouns. It moves at a rapid pace in a fever of sentences. Not so much thoughts of thinking, but rather words on a blackboard. Disconnected. Connected. Filling the blackboards with sentences.

About the Creator
Ocean Pounds
Toronto, Canada
Ocean Pounds is a platform for a number of art-driven projects, founded in 1995 (Hong Kong) by photo-based artists Holly Lee and Lee Ka-sing, headquartered in Toronto since 2000. Ocean Pounds is also a primo spot to acquire Holly and Ka-sing’s work - from the very recent to vintages dated back to late 70’s. Furthermore, it acts adequately as a venue to locate fine art pieces from their past organized projects (Gallery, Representation, Print Program), with work from prominent artists notably Nobuyoshi Araki, Christopher Doyle, Yau Leung and Yao Jui-chung.
