From an early realization, I discovered that my creativity and problem-solving abilities originate from a visual realm. I find myself immersed in a world of colors, sounds, textures and emotions that seem to escape the limitations of language. My mixed media works, infused with the spirit of my Brazilian heritage, explore the the complexities of colonization, spirituality, ancestry and mythology. The threads of my cultural past interweave with my present experiences, informing my artistic vision. My art is a reflection of my journey towards understanding and embracing the complexity and richness of my identity as well as a call for others to join in the celebration of our diverse cultural heritage.
