    About the Book

    Edit

These photos show the last few days in the nest for four Robin nestlings and their parents' monumental efforts to feed them. A pair of American robins feeding a hungry family deliver 100 to 150 meals a day to the nest. Each baby Robin may eat its weight in insects, worms and berries in a day. Clearly, the baby Robins need and want constant feeding. Some of their looks caught by the camera show their demanding temperaments.

It can be a salvage operation too: is there any element in the frame that stands out and might be saved by cropping or other operations, or does it get the delete button? I question what each photograph is, what it should be, and the great number of versions showing the radical variety of portrayal that might be chosen in a circumstance.
