Joan Krejcar Sharma received her M.F.A. from Indiana University and B.F.A. from Temple University's, Tyler School of Art. She has traveled, studied and lived in Europe and India. These experiences have contributed to her understanding of the interconnectedness of our global community. The most recent series was taken during a 2009 trip to India to visit the Women artists of Mithila in the Madhubani region of Bihar State. During the winter break of 2006/2007,Sharma co-directed a trip to Northern India. . The “Study Tour of Northern India” was co-sponsored by the College of Arts & Humanities, Office of Continuing and Global Education and the Fresno Art Museum. Joan teaches Interaction of Color, photography and 2D and 3D design as an Associate Professor in the Department of Art and Design at California State University, Fresno California.
