    About the Book

    Edit

Douglas Allen is a nationally known wildlife artist, whose career has spanned more than half a century. He has loved and painted wildlife all his life. Posing his subjects in their natural habitat, he depicts them with accuracy and precision. Whether he is painting a red fox, cottontail rabbit, grizzly bear or bison, his subjects stand out, never overwhelmed by unnecessary details, always painted with sensitivity and control.

This is the catalog from the Douglas Allen exhibit in Bernardsville, New Jersey 2010. It contains many of his most important works up to that date. It also contains a rare look at his field paintings and sketches, which are bio-pictorial records of his observations that he uses to incorporate into his wildlife painting. This book was designed and edited by the artist in conjunction with the exhibit at The Burnt Mills Gallery.
