Rose Ernst is an artist and storyteller from Berkeley, CA. Rose decided to pursue children’s book illustration after illustrating “Let’s Eat The Colors of the Rainbow” by Mathilde Hollander. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Illustration at California State University East Bay. Now with “What Did You Find Today?” Rose brings her own work to parents and young readers. The inspiration for the book came from her experience as a summer camp counselor. At the end of long camp days, her campers would present Rose with little treasures they found and stories they invented. The imaginations of her campers inspired Rose to write a story about a girl who finds magic in small items. She hopes that parents and children will learn to appreciate the small memories they are making together on their big adventure.
