Why the Willow Grew Kotki is a digitally illustrated, children’s picture book based off of a centuries-old Polish legend. It is written in both English and Polish in order to tie the two cultures together and teach children of these mixed backgrounds how to read in both languages. The illustrations feature anthropomorphized animals as the main characters in the story, which have a painterly, hand-drawn aesthetic throughout despite being created digitally.
