About the Book
Divided into four chapters, these poems reimagine the mind as a garden where each new flower-Iris, Rosehip, Foxglove, and Almond-draws us deeper into the author's intimacy: Love reaching from her eyes to her amygdala.

About the Creator
Isolde Chang is a 24-year-old poet and former student of neuroscience. A world traveler and avid amateur linguist, Isolde has a deep appreciation of mythology and classical literature, which lends to her writing a nostalgic romanticism and iconography. She completed her studies in Cognitive Science and neuroscience while writing this collection and has previously published work on women in STEM. As a writer and admirer of science, Isolde seeks to explore the intersection between emotion and neuroscience. Whereas most people see feelings and physics (poetry and science) as opposites, Isolde recognizes their cooperative nature. Her debut collection, “The Almond of My Mind: The Poetry of Neuroscience and Love” explores the intersection between neuroscience and love through a unique re-imagining of physical neurological systems as relational metaphors.
