About the Book
This is the story of a little egg and her journey of self discovery. Brightly coloured clay figurines illustrate the story of the little egg and her farm animal friends.
This is the English version (there is also a Spanish one). Repetitive phrasing helps young readers who are learning to speak English/Spanish.
The concept for "Gemma the Egg" began quite some time ago. On hearing the English pronunciation of my name, which is very similar to the Spanish word for egg yolk, yema, my cheeky young Spanish cousin nick-named me “Gemma el Huevo”, that is, Gemma the Egg. Years later Gemma the Egg has finally come to life!

I am the daughter of an Australian mum and a Spanish dad. I am a traveller, reader, procrastinator, dreamer and creator... and sometimes I'm a vet. The “Gemma the Egg” books were created to encourage my young nieces to practise their Spanish language skills. The story, figurines and photography are all my own original work.
