About the Book
This is a photo tale about the arctic taiga, in the Koillismaa, the northeast part of Finland, just close to Napapiiri, the arctic circle. The portfolio is a result of more then 6 years of travelling around the area, mostly very near the nice little red house, called "Kaksi taivasta" (the two skies), Patrizia's home.
This portion of Finland is one of the wildest area of Europe. You can walk freely in the total wilderness, in forests where bears and mooses, capercaillies and squirrels, woodpeckers and black grouses live in good shape, even when the temperature crashed 40 degrees below centigrades. And during that period (middle of january middle of march) there are 80 centimeters of ice on the lakes. After that swans, cranes and geese are coming for the spring season and the nesting time.
A marvelous world described by Patrizia's pictures.
