In the late nineteenth century, four Frelin siblings from the Alsace region of France traveled separately to New York City to begin new lives. Relying on public records, as well as a family archive of historical photos, letters, documents and lore, the author tells the stories of their lives and of their continued connection to the parents and siblings who remained in France.
