Simon R Daw has been collecting examples of Charles Dickens's work for over a decade. He has taken a particular interest in the illustrations that accompanied the works when they were originally published. Seeking to find an example of every illustration commissioned by Dickens and his publishers in England during Dickens's lifetime, Simon has been able to compile 'The Original Dickens Illustrations', to be published in two volumes. These volumes are to be produced from scans of prints made from the original plates and woodcuts made in Dickens's lifetime, and is the first time that all the illustrations have been gathered together and reproduced at their original size.
