    About the Book

    Edit

A catalogue of Gabrielle Anderman's artwork included in the show Reparable Arm. Reparable Arm on view at TAG Gallery in the Fall of 2022. The show explores the experience of being a woman. Although not intentionally autobiographical, all the work was influenced by Gabrielle's life journey -- as a little girl, an adolescent, a daughter, a wife, a mother, a friend and a spiritual seeker. She gave herself the freedom to both reimagine history and myth from the feminine perspective, and to reclaim and reinvent her own life experiences from the perspective of an adult. Painting through fear, frustration, anger, and vulnerability, she came to a place of spaciousness and compassion - like she was no longer painting for herself, but for many women.
