About the Book
For almost 30 years, the face of Baghdad has been littered with military control, and thus, it has affected the city intensely. Constant wars left behind blank, concrete walls (T-Walls), surrounding communities and isolating neighborhoods. The T-Walls were implemented by the US-led Multinational Forces (MNF) in 2007 to prevent sectarian violence between the Shia and the Sunni communities. This book investigates the reasons for implementing the T-Walls. It explores the daily impact of the T- Walls in the city of Baghdad that resulted from applying the concrete walls, it will present various events as part of the territorialisation strategy throughout the history of the city and then understand what made Baghdad the way it is today.
