Women’s restrictions in Iran are an issue that gradually has become more extreme in 43 years. Following the Islamic Revolution, the country’s political climate has affected its culture. The reality that women face in Iran is an oppressive patriarchal system that comes from the twisting of certain teachings within Islam by the men in power. Sadly, this ideology has also been taught and strongly pushed in schools starting as early as kindergarten. This is to ensure that these ideas are infused into the psyche of these young children.
